Kwes is a British composer, music producer and artist from London, England, winner of the 2024 BIFA for Best Original Music. He is signed to Warp Records. He released his debut album ilp in October 2013 and has since gone on to write and produce music for the likes of Solange Knowles, Sampha, Loyle Carner, Black Coffee, Tirzah and numerous others. He has scored the soundtrack for Little Miss Sumo, a documentary about 20-year-old sumo wrestler Hiyori Kon, one of few women practising the sports as she enters a competition. Recently he has scored Rye Lane (BBC, BFI & Fox Searchlight for distribution), the debut feature from Raine Allen Miller in 2023.
